Flywheel position for balance
In my quest for removing all leaks I removed the flywheel to change the crankshaft oil seal (which was completely dry). When I removed the flywheel, I marked one tooth and a corresponding location in the engine timing gear cover plate. Then I figured that the leak came from the gasket between the bl...

Swiss Blinker Turn Signal lenses
Friends, I am experimenting with 3D printing and have reasonable success with the Swiss front turn light signal lenses. Currently this is still a work in progress, but very promising. The good: Cheap! Accurate dimensions, fits perfect. These are not replicas by far, but way better than moving to a c...

Re: Carb idle jet oring?
As far as I remember, there are two types of idle jets. Old type and new type. Only the new ones have the o-ring. Check these pictures on Ebay. https://www.ebay.com/itm/ZENITH-NDIX-CARBURETORS-IDLE-JETS-EARLY-TYPE/292141272860?epid=1933688258&hash=item4404fa0f1c:g:sbEAAOSwKytZNZvF:rk:8:pf:0 http...

Re: Fuel gauge not working
I had a bad sending unit. Quite a job to restore the original unit. But possible. worst case, plenty of options available for replacement.

Re: Sudden poor performance
Make sure all jets are clean. And carb acceleration pumps can be checked with engine stopped, with flashlight. Just make sure all four are squirting a nice stream of gas when you move the throttles to open.

Re: Fuel Pump Rebuild?
I a not sure I understand the problem you all guys with extra pumps are facing. My truck always starts in 3 turns unless I let it sit for a month or more. There is usually enough fuel in the carburetor acceleration pump so that two strokes on the throttle pedal inject enough gas to make it go. Are y...

Re: Petrol leaking from cylinder 1 ( exhaust manifold removed)
Based on your symptoms: Float level. You need to do this test with the engine running, and setting up a plastic tube or hose. It can be done with $10 or less. http://real4x4forums.com/PinzgauerBBS/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=6054 Second thing I would check with those symptoms is for vacuum leaks. The ho...

Re: Eberspacher heater cable dont know where it goes.
So... getting closer. Found in a german forum a wiring diagram for the BN4 installation in our Pinzgauers. Still this apparently describes the installation for a specific model that I recognize by the type of Hardy pump. The one in this diagram is for a pump with + and - connectors. The one I have i...

Did you ever solve the smoke problem? I am dealing with it now. Don't know how to adjust the mixture if it is possible.

Re: Eberspacher BN4 Mixture adjustment - Wiring
Gents, I am trying to start my BN4 again after a full rebuild. But having some of the same issues I had before. One sometimes it does not start, suspecting fuel pump not always running, second, suspect mixture too rich, therefore lots of carbon deposits and smoke. Any idea on how to solve the rich m...
