Just wanted to say thanks for the update - I have been wondering what's been happening with this project.
The build quality looks good - keep it up!

Re: BMW motorcycle engine?!?
My only concern with a bmw engine is the depth of the oil sump - it might hang down to much.
I've seen photos of a haffy with a moto guzzi engine that looked like a great fit - it even had 4 wheel steering.

If you are only going to use it for smaller loads (such as a radio) that draws only an amp or two at 12vdc, you can probably just disconnect the fan and it will work OK. You might try it with the case open first and feel the heatsink - if you can't keep your hand on it then its too hot. A bigger hea...

Not the best choice of locks - a locksmith buddy of mine mentioned that they have a problem - check out this video... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=StRIrx2NBZE&feature=related from youtube "master trailer coupler bypass" if the link doesn't work. He recommended the round puck style lo...

Re: Big bang, now metal "rattling" sound...yikes!
Might be the front "witch hat" on the back of the front diff which supports the rear to front driveshaft and houses the locker mech. I had the bearing go once which made a similar noise. My suggestion is jacking it up and turning each wheel and groups to see when it occurs - I would sugges...

Re: MegaSquirt EFI install
Looks like a nice design for a part - but I don't understand where the throttle body will go? I am working on doing EFI as well with a microsquirt - but I have a fuel injection setup from one of the redbull trucks to use so I already have the plenum / injectors / throttle body worked out for me. I w...

Checking the level is a pretty quick project - you should do it before any more driving.

That doesn't look good... most certainly the problem. Surprised it happened with the material of that part of the carb.
So what is the ignition system you are using? Sounds pretty sweet.

Re: PLUG 3- WAY headlights
The electrical connector will fit both the standard (A base?) and the H4 bulbs - but the stock bulb holder only works with the old bulbs. I've seen people try and make it work but its not worth it - just get a new set. Be sure the new ones have the side bulb hole for the "city" lights if y...
