When draining the oil from a wheel asssembl, I was told to open the upper plug first. This was to prevent that pressure you mention from blowing oil out the drain plug, to avoid the mess. Apparently some pressure in there is normal, and as was suggested above, may be desirable. I use large pieces of...

Sometimes you've just gotta be glad it wasn't yourself that time. Bummer. I too had a front wheel loosen up - didn't fall off, though. "Roll bar"??? Drive safe everyone. PU

I found some Honda CRX seats from a junkyard. They work well because the seat itself is very slim. Then I used some scrap steel straps and basically made a flat frame up which has 2 clips at the front and a slotted pad at the rear which all can clip right into the truck like the stock arrangement. I...

Dennis, How do you adjust the wiper travel? My driver side wiper always hits the weatherstrip on that side. (And as you may remember, my gear did go bad.) I must have missed something, because I've never figured out how to correct that. Thanks, Paul Underwood

Thank you Jim.
I feel like Homer Simpson, "D'oh". I really DID try to search, honest. But I looked for '712 rear springs'.
It sounds as straightforward as I assumed. Hopefully I have no surprises.

Doug, I had this problem here in Wisconsin too. It was really friggin cold out. In my case, what I'm pretty sure happened is that the air filter got some moisture on it and froze. I had oil in the air box above both carbs, just dripping all over. It had sucked over a quart of oil out of the engine w...

712 Rear Spring Bushing Replacement

Hi All, The bushing on one of my rear springs seems worn. Over really rough terrain, it allows the ends of the spring to travel close enough to the body to scrape away paint. It also looks pretty old and crusty. Any advice from anyone who's done this job? It looks to me like it's just a matter of re...

Hi, I used spring compressors when I pulled my front wheel assy off. And Dennis gave me the right advice too!! It was tough getting the compressor's onto the spring on the inboard side. And it was SCARY how much pressure was on them. Be careful. Paul
