Re: Opinion on hard cab model
That is a pretty steep price but you will be getting an extremely rare truck in the deal. A 703APK with RHD in good shape is not something you will see very often. Polycabs are certainly a rarity in North America already. The RHD just makes it that more interesting and unique. Any photos? Take care....

Re: Opinion on hard cab model
Definitely more rare. While it is very hard to gauge given the rapidly increasing asking prices for all Haflingers, I think you will probably be looking at paying an extra $1-2K USD for a polycab over the exact same vehicle but with open body. In addition to the "cute little pick-up" facto...

Re: Crawler vs 1st gear
The only information I can add it that some of the Komminal Polycab trucks had lower ratios in the transmission as well. We have one with a maximum listed speed of 50km/hr in 5th gear.
Hope this helps.

Shawn, You might wish to contact Scott Ingham at Expedition Imports. He currently lists four Haflingers on his site. http://www.expedition-imports.com/category/dealership_inventory/ Swiss Army Vehicles does not currently have anything available on their site but it certainly would be worth a call th...

Re: Big Foot Haflingertreffen update
Scott, Looks like beautiful weather and the scenery is spectacular. Looking at the Leavenworth, WA home page, they have plenty going on this time of year. Looks like a great location for a future Haflingertreffen. Nice work on the cage. Looks just right for protecting all occupants. We will have to ...

Re: Big Foot Haflingertreffen update
With less than two weeks to go before the start of the third Haflingertreffen Nordamerika, I though it appropriate to set the mood with a bit of video I recently found. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F7csG9IDL3g&feature=related Hope to see many of you in the land of the Big Foot. Take care. Jim ...

Re: modular roll cage
Scott, How much does your roll cage unit weigh? I have been working on a design for a lightweight rear canopy for our 703APK but I may want to rethink that idea. A similar rack to yours would allow for a weight bearing roof in addition to roll over protection. See you soon. Take care. Jim Molloy Wal...

Big Foot Haflingertreffen update
Hello to all, We are now a mere six weeks away from the 3rd annual Haflingertreffen Nordamerika. In speaking with Bruce T.C., this event’s local guru, chief organizer and guide, this is going to be one very special weekend. The location for on-site camping will be on ample private property at the fa...

Re: Wanted: metal sideboards with the metal doors
If you send me your contact information through our Northwest MogFest site, I can then pass it on to the owners of the 1960 vintage truck. I suspect they would be happy to help out.
Take care.

Re: Wanted: metal sideboards with the metal doors
This is the configuration most commonly seen on the Austrian military trucks. The top photo was taken at Jim LaGuardia's place but that early production (1960) truck now spends time with its new owners in Washington state. I am not sure if they are on this list. The lower image is of a complete funk...

Re: Haflingertreffen Nordamerika 2012
Hello to all. I just wanted to rattle the cages a bit and remind folks that the third annual Haflingertreffen Nordamerika is now less than four short months away. Bruce T.C. will be our local guide in his stomping grounds. Options are available as far as accommodations in the area for those not plan...

Re: Max height to fit in a Hafi?
6' 4" and skinny, I know of several 76" tall Haflinger owners/operators. I believe most have the same initial reservation you do. Size of your feet can also be an issue. All seem to have adapted quite nicely. Replacing the original seats with thick plush units from another vehicle does not...
