Engine cooling fan

I need to change my cooling fan but noticed there is no hex nut to remove, instead there is what looks like an inner splined part. Does anyone know what tool is needed to remove this part that retains the cooling fan. Swiss Army vehicles part list shows a hexagonal nut, I wish it was that easy. Thanks Zig
