Removing the fan nut

Time to tighten the fan belt and I have never done it since I have had the vehicle. I am assuming the nut is standard thread counter clockwise to loosen? Any trick to getting this thing off? I have the fan wrench, but can’t get any real leverage on it. I guess I need a big pipe over the fan wrench just want to make sure I am not about to break something.

I used an air impact wrench. The impulse is so sharp the nut takes the brunt of the torque, as the rest of the mechanism has too much inertia to spin up that quickly.
