lost the accelerator pump return spring

Post by audiocontr »

I'm missing the return spring on the rear carb. I'll be damned if i can see where its supposed to mount. Lever side is obvious, but the small flat piece that attaches to the lowest bolt for hooking the bottom portion of the spring is not on the rear carb. Instead, it has a solid D loop to protect the solenoids.

1) Can i pick up a spring at my local home depot and match it to the spring i have in the front?

2) Can you recommend the best place to attach it?

By the way, I had a spring last i checked, but somehow, however Herbert had it connected, came undone and fell off

There is a small hole in the underside of the "D-loop". Kind of a PITA to get the end of the spring hooked in there.

There is a little hole on the rear/firewall side of the D loop, about 1.5 inches away from the mount bolt. Its hard to see but if you run your finger along the back edge you should be able to feel it.
