Starter backplate causes loud grinding when fail

if you hear a loud metal grinding on metal sound ,Sounding like you push the starter button in while the engine is running (not good) chances are its your starter backplate . with the engine running grab the starter and push and pull on it to see if there is any grinding. replace the backplate good luck.
