tub on before the engine?

tub on before the engine?

How much harder is it to put the motor in a 710m, with the body on?
my body tub is off ,and i am debating on putting the tub on before the engine, is this stupid? i want to put the body on so i can roll the truck around or tow it to another location . thanks guys................

Its a doddle to install with the tub in place--Carry on with your project.

I can't speak about installing the motor with the body on because I installed mine with the body off. But I couldn't imagine doing it with the body on, seriously I had enough trouble forcing the motor blocks to line up all at once with it off. Mount the motor mounts first, then mount the motor, but leave the carbs, oil cooler, and fuel pump off so you don't damage them during the body install.

With the tub off you can install the engine and trans together very quickly.
With the tub on it takes longer because you install engine and trans separetely.

that's exactly what i needed to remember that the motor and trans will have to be installed separately if the tub is on. thanks guys for all the free info it helps allot !!!!

I did engine and trans together with body on but windshield and frame removed. It definitely takes two people to do it this way. I have never had the body off so don't know how easy it is to fit body over engine but imagine that would also take two people to make sure nothing gets damaged.
