clutch failure? advice wanted

40% of the cost of a clutch set is in the TOB (Release Bearing) which is Sachs specific to the Pinzgauer. Using all of the cross referrence tech cats, nothing comes up as a vehicle reference other than the Pinz. Sachs technical support has confirmed on 2 separate occasions

Wish it were not the case, and would love to find an alternate, but have yet to find something that will work.

Just been quoted a price for a new bearing - yikes!! It's this one you're talking about, I take it:
