Removing muffler

Post by spandit »

Have had some conflicting reports on removing the muffler. I'm told that if I remove the 2 bolts on the rear mounting bracket, I can pull the whole thing out from the heat exchanger (if it's supported). Undoing/cutting the 6 flange bolts isn't an option

Nigel mentioned a support bracket above the heat exchanger as he says the sleeve couplings can be difficult (and he should know as I guess he's done a few) but mentioned it's difficult to access

Thanks for all the helpful replies!!

Eventually just undid/snapped the 6 flange bolts in situ and took the old muffler off
