Acceptable fuel consumption?

I regard this as a “seasoned” topic, so I’ll keep it very short.
History:
- Cleaned + installed service kits in both carbs
- Replaced all cut-off valves ($$$)
- Installed petrol pump service kit
- Renewed all fuel lines
- Replaced all filters
- Adjusted valves
- Confirmed timing
- CO = 2.5%
- HC = 150 ppm
- Idle = 850 rpm
- Plugs = light brown
Consumption = 5.5km/l @ 80km/h
Acceptable or not for a 710 M

Average fuel economy is generally quoted as "MPG", not tail pipe emissions figures.
So to put this on topic , 712's average 10-12 MPG, 710's around 11-15 MPG.
However, city driving keeps you at the low end of averages posted.

We had an economy run in the Land Rover Club a few years ago, and I took my 712 AND I won!....Well I think I did because I had the highest result of all.
Over about 250km I used 25.8 litres per 100 km, but as I had my Webasto 3500 running on high all day, (it was winter and I was cold) "I" think a figure a 25 litres per 100km is more accurate. (the event co-ordinator only accepted the fuel top up reading and did not take the Webasto into account)

My Pinny is a 2.7 and I run the bigger tyres but the consumption figures worked out at:

25 litres / 100 km
11.2 mpg Imperial
9.4 mpg US

I've got to drive about 1,500 miles on the first weekend in March. I'm screwed...

Thanks guys, so I have nothing to moan about and that further fine tuning is simply not worth it. The reason why I asked was that SDP argue something like 7km/l (14.2l/100km) - I guess that is under optimum circumstances (level surface, hard tyres, no load etc)
