This is very similar to the engines in the old Fairbanks-Morse diesel locomotives of the 1950's - the Trainmaster.

Similar but here the opposed pistons are vertical.

would be awfully cool....but I'm not sure how we could get it to fit in the pinz.... even if we could get one in the right power rating, with what they describe right now we'd be really low, or way too big/heavy. but who knows where this will go, seems like a unique opportunity!

Those Fairbanks-Morse engines are on our 378 Cutters in the USCG, great for a 400 foot Cutter, way too complicated and heavy for a truck that small, maybe an 18 wheeler could take advantage of the extra power. Even scaled down to a reasonable size you'd be looking at almost twice the weight for a given displacement.
Definitely a cool setup though, would be great for a diesel driven semi-permanent generator
