Fan pulley half dimensions - would a Porsche 911 one fit?

Post by spandit »

Could some kind soul either measure the diameter of the fan pulley half or let me know whether a 911 one would fit (like this one:

)?

Been quoted a horrendous price for a new one (cheaper to import from SAV into the UK...)

Thanks!

To answer my own thread, no.

The Porsche one, I have been informed, has a central hole that is 22x30mm (on a 96mm diameter pulley). Measuring the spigot on the front of my fan, it's about 29x34mm and judging by the wear, the pulley is about the same size. What a bummer!

Second confirmation on this. Tried out some Porsche pulleys and they are as you stated and will not work without modification. That being said, with a little machining their is enough material to machine the Porsche pulley larger to fit the Pinzgauer and Haflinger. Took about 10 minutes on a milling machine. Did it 2 weeks ago when I was in a time crunch to finish up a vehicle.
