I'm getting ready to replace the one on my 710. Got the pan and the gasket from SAV in no time flat as usual.
The questions are, when I drain the oil is it just a straight take off? Or is there something I need to be aware of before I start undoing bolts? Next question, gasket sealer for the new pan gasket, is there any specific type that is better than any other type or will whatever NAPA has be suffcient. I have to run to NAPA and get a filter anyway for when the pan is on.
In case anyone is wondering, no I did hit anything. It's just old age I guess. Fritz, in Victoria was able to patch last August but he had trouble finding a welder who could fix the stress cracks and the pan/weld is seeping again.
Thanks.
Andy

Re: Oil pan
Drain oil remove pan. Sealant(permatex aviation sealant) on PAN SIDE ONLY. This allows for future removal without destroying gasket, also block surface is flat(no sealant required).
