I have my Pinz over at a local mechanic guys house getting work done. He was tuning carbs, rebuilding fuel pump and checking compression. After having the positive wire removed from the coil during several cranking episodes, spark has mysteriously been lost. Coil tested OK but not spark. Mechanic is leaning towards the igniter in the petronix ignition failing. What might cause this? Or is their any other possible causes we are over looking?

Yep, it was the Petronix igniter that failed. Replaced and fired right up
