710M 1979 misfire
710M 1979 misfire
Hi All, I have a misfire on my 710 that is intermittent. Its noticeable on starting when revving the engine, but then is on and off even when the engine is warm. I have checked the obvious things such as HT leads and the like, and there doesn't seem to be anything glaringly obvious. Can anyone give me some pointers as what else to check? Cheers, Firemat

sometimes a little mosture under the cap will cause this, you been off roading it lately?
When all are firing is it running good? have you synced and adjusted the carbs lately?

Re: 710M 1979 misfire
Thanks for your replies guys. The vehicle was bought 'as is' so I don't really know the history and I am working my way through it. The cap appears ok, as does the arm and points, but I haven't yet gapped them or changed the points, or the plugs to be honest. Carb wise I have no idea when they were last synced, so I need to look at that as well then. Thanks for the pointers, I will work my way through them and see if that does the trick Cheers, Firemat
