Rubber parts

Post by djw »

Can anyone point me to a replacement rubber boot that holds the speedometer and fuel gauge light in place? I had one just deteriorate.

They look like they could be generic rubber parts, but it is required to secure the instrument bulbs in place.

Thanks.

I just had the same problem and bought some from McMaster, 6448K29 , 11.17 for a pack of 50

You'll need to shorten them a bit with a scissors or knife and cut a hole in the end for the wire.

They really only help to hold the bulbs in, you may need to squeeze the bulb socket sleeve a bit tighter also.

If you'd like, pm me your address and I'll mail you some since I've got way more than I need.

I looked at McMaster and could not find anything, but the rubber cap did not cross my mind. I'll send you a pm. Pack of 50 is enough for 25 pinzgauers.
