Ok, so parts are on route, civilian ignition from EI, gaskets and seals (plus a couple wiper blades) from SAV and piston/cylinder from Pinzgauer Canada. Boy, do I know how to spread out the love! :D

OK, so cause of all this has been identified. We got the piston and Cylinder installed. Cylinder #1 back in place. Now time to reinstall the head. But wait....there are two small fractures just above the plug hole. Sure enough, we attempt to thread the plug and it simply spins in place. My mechanics theory is that the plug backed out, air entered the cylinder and leaned out the gas mixture to the point of "kaboom"!!! Anyway, sounds about right as the piston detonation lines directly up with the spark plug opening.

Sadly, now I'm waiting on a replacement head.

Ohhhhh please upload pics. I would love to see what that head looks like. I have a similar thing happen to my TW200... except someone down shifted at too high a speed and over revved it and bent up a valve and trashed the head... not related at all but I feel your pain of having a junk head.

New (used) head has arrived and I should be putting it in tomorrow sometime. Getting closer. I'll have to reformat my pics, as they are too large to post up, but once I do, I'll show off all the damage.
