When I rebuilt the carbs, I replaced everything that was included in the extensive carb kit. The floats are still good and if you find yours not to be so you can have my old ones. Just pay the shipping..shouldn't be an issue as they are really light.

Floats can be tested on the stove. Submerge them in a pan of water and heat it slowly. If there is a leak the float will blow bubbles. If they are partially flooded you might hear fuel sloshing inside them when shaken. Brass floats can be repaired by gently heating for several hours to remove the trapped fuel and then soldering. They will gain weight and need a level adjustment. Leaking plastic floats could be "solvent welded" if you could be certain of the plastic type. Best to replace plastic leakers...
