I've been working through my 710M Radio changing all its precious bodily fluids since I don't know their history.
Just changed the gear oil in the wheel drives, and to my surprise, the two rear hubs had so much oil in them that when I removed the filler plug, *glug* *glug* *glug* lots of oil came out. I can't figure out how the last person even got so much oil in there in the first place, since it's only supposed to be filled until it just starts leaking out... once it's at that level (FULL!), how can you get more oil in??? Perplexed.
This will done on level ground (on the slab on the pole barn) and the two front hubs had the expected amount of oil, though it was nasty black (glad I changed it).
WTF! Anyone???

Re: Wheel drive oil change
In this case check the oil level at the diff of that axle. There seems to be a seal leaking.
Cheers

Re: Wheel drive oil change
Well a leaky diff seal would make sense. I'm doing the diffs next, so expect the rear one will be low on oil.
