Floopy shifter..then no gears

Post by Pinzgauer Pete »

Yesterday just tooling around in the woods I noticed shifter getting sloppy then had hard time getting 1st and 3rd...then lost all gears..felt like the shifter was connected to nothing and was hoping that the linkage was disconnected. After removing access panel saw all was properly connected moved the shift tower manually but still nothing..then disconnected the shift tower from shift rod..we moved it manually and eventually got first gear and was able to get it home...havent looked at it yet as it was dark out but figured I would post it for some ideas!!!
life is like a box of chocolates...you never know which one you might get

I had a similar situation with mine, I had to have the shifter linkage rewelded as the brace welds broke loose and the linkage was cracking and flexing. It quickly turned from sloppy shifting to no shifting.
