I changed the fluid in my rear diff yesterday and when I pulled the plug I found some metal shavings and a small metal chip on the plug. I had wanted to get a pic of the chip but somehow I cant find it anymore. By the looks of it, it did not appear to be off of a pin of any kind but rather it looked to be a small chip off a gear tooth. It was tiny, about the size of a bb.

I know its impossible to may any sort of diagnonsis without seeing the chip but I am more just curious if anyone else has seen this before?

I also ended up getting a puncture in one of the tubes in the maloyas so it wasnt a good day haha.

Some small metal chips are not uncommon on the drain plug magnet in my experience.
