replace rear main seal of gearbox while still on vehicle?

Is it possible? Its easy enough to get to but how would you prevent the gears from rotating while you use an impact on the nut?

You will need a quality thin wall socket and just hold the flange with your other hand(provided you have vise grip hands like mine

)
A good 1/2" drive impact will zip it right off and back on. Don't forget to re-stake the nut after reassembly

Hammer and deep socket or piece of wood.

Question: Is there more than one seal i should replace once i removed the transaxle? I replaced the seal right behind the main bolt and its still leaking just as much as it did before. Is there another one further in that i should have replaced at the same time?
