Best Axle Boot???

Post by Dreadnought »

Probably been asked a hunnerd times before, but who is selling the best Axle Boots at the moment......my last set (split rubber type) have lasted just 2 years. I don,t mind replacing them every 2 years, but do hope that eventually someone will make them to last a bit longer than that?

I've only bought 'em from SAV before. They've all lasted more than 2 years, so I've never bought 'em anywhere else.

I can't tell you who makes the "best" ones, only that they sell good ones.

Thanks 'good ones' are good enough for me......I only got about 23 months from the last ones.....but we never know how long they were sitting on a shelf in sunlight??? so maybe I just had a bad batch or something.......I will check out SAV and order.

I got split ones from Haflinger Technik, it has been on for a few years, but then I'm not using my truck in the rough too much. Certainly not cracked or weak rubber!

Not to disparage SAV but I've been told that the best quality split boots are available for the forum advertiser, Expedition Imports. Emphasis on supporting the forum / advertiser...

Not to disparage SAV but I've been told by reliable sources that Scott at Expedition Imports carries the best quality split boots.

Did I mention that EI is a sponsor / advertiser of the forum?

Well, I sent an e.mail to 'The Pinzmeister' no reply (come on wake up Nigel!!!) and then I tried HaflingerTechnik....I don,t think they want to sell anything? no one answers my calls (you get a 'we are busy try again another time') after about six of those I gave up..so will Expedition Imports post items to Poland?

I'm surprised Dale at Haflinger Tecknik didn't respond. He's pretty fast on the email sketch. I've never been stumped for spares from him yet. Majority of things thud onto the doormat within 24hrs. I had a dizzy cap break last winter. Needed a replacement ASAP. Spoke to Dale on the Tellingbone. One of his drivers dropped it at my road end 25 minutes later !! I'll not forget that.

I once bought a split boot job off fleabay. El Cheapo. It lasted about 18 months, then became a split split boot. You get what you pay for I guess. Beware.
