Locker Master Cylinders

A couple of questions. I found my rear diff lock lever frozen yesterday when I tried to engage it. It's never been a problem and it get used fairly frequently. (710K)
1st: Is removing the masters the worst job on the entire Pinz?
2nd: I don't see why the truck cannot be driven with the masters removed. Am I incorrect?
3rd: The SAV kit does not seem to include all the seals in the master. Is this true?
4th: I found hard white plastic specs upon disassembly. Where do they come from?

1- not the hardest, hardest is getting the hood emblem on and off.
2 it can be driven without the masters installed. but only in 2wd.
3-It included all the seals but didn't include the rubber hose "T" and elbow connections from the fluid reservoir.
4-I believe the hard white specs are where moisture has caused the brake fluid to break down. Fluid may have also been refilled with Dot 5(with silicon).

Thanks Andre, yeah I can see that hood emblem has even worse access short of pulling the air duct (yikes!)

Don't have to pull the air duct or anything else...just need small hands and the correct socket, think it is 8mm.
It is by the way an unreal PITA...and just wait till you try to put it back.

edit: thanks Andre...it's been seven years since I did it. Only intended to do it once (I hope).
