Starter Rebuild
Starter Rebuild
I pulled out the starter out of my Pinz to replace the mounting plate, and thought since it was out I'd take it to a starter rebuilder to check it out. The guy who rebuilt the starter on my '46 Willys said he could look it over if I got him the specs. I looked all over the forum and elsewhere but could not find starter specs. Does anyone have them available? Also, are there any quirks to this starter that I should let him know about? Lastly, the starter was working fine before removal, is the check-up necessary or am I be overly cautious?
Thanks,
John Cotner

First you need to identify the version of starter you have.
the left device on the pic is version 2, the right one version 1
From the info in your signature ( 1971) I conclude you will have a v1, unless it was swapped in the meantime.
I would check the carbon brushes, and not touch anything else ...
Version 1 BRUSH SET 4 STARTER BOSCH 2007014041 7121096150/
Version 2 BRUSH SET STARTER FROM 1984 7121096610/
