Attaching front spotlights without drilling

Post by spandit »

I don't want to drill holes in my bumper/fender to mount front spots - is there a way anyone has come up with to avoid this problem?

Shouldn’t this be in Owner customizations & accessories

1 Fabricate a bracket using existing bolt locations.
2 Use bumper guards or over head cargo racks like the factory parts manual shows
3 Use a welder. Don’t like it grind it off and slap some paint on it.

Look at photos on the web, many have done what your asking about, use your imagination.

Spot Light Brackets

If you are not using the front antenna storage holders, you may be able to fab up brackets on each side to use the existing nut serts on what I call the front (sloped) hood (bonnet over there).

See #'s 44 & 45 on page:

Just drill the top of the bumpers, and in the future if you don't like it,switch the bumpers and viola! The holes are gone.

Don't have antennae mounts on the front - my 710K is a civilian version.

Think I will end up drilling the bumpers

magnetic mounts on the Go Lights work exceptionally well, also available in suction mount and permanent mount. Several years and never a loose light.

Here's my solution - Firestik Widget mounts. They're meant for fixing CB antennae but work fine for this:

Check the local auto stores or J.C. whitney. there are mounts similiar to the antenna mounts specifically for fog lamps and beams.

I used them several years ago and they work very well and allow for adjustments in all needed angles.

You've obviously never been to Halfords... they're pretty much the only auto store in the UK & so are overpriced and seldom carry anything actually useful

I thought that we had all agreed at the last meeting that folks who refused to customize (drill holes etc.) their Pinzs were banned from the forum?

Wasn't at that meeting!

I've done plenty of drilling/customising but don't like to overdo it and might want to move the spots later.

Got them lit tonight for the first time - took an age to track down a dodgy earth...

I was banned from the meeting to vote on banning me ....Who's on first?

Since it was an unanimous vote... so I am wondering the honesty of those that claimed to have voted for me :?
