New fuel gauge

Post by psychoman »

Finally got around to fitting a new fuel gauge today after 6 months of guesswork when my old one failed.

Easy enough job, though the new VDO unit had a completely different wiring config to the original, but a quick search on here and I found a previous post on the same subject where Jim had confirmed the wiring to the new unit, so 15 mins later and I was up and running.

So, two things...

1. If anyone else has a failed gauge and is thinking of replacing, go ahead - its an easy job and

2. A big thank you to the people on this site that make Pinzgauer ownership a little more easy than it would be otherwise. Thanks guys.

Sorry - didn't think to take pics whilst doing it (and I'm not taking it apart again now). :?
