My Pinz came without the battery switch, I guess they took all the expensive elec bits for spare parts before they decommissioned it.
I have holes in the floor behind the drivers seat.
Does anyone have the specs for a replacement unit, such as the maximum volt and amp rating? I would rather buy an equivalent locally rather than pay air freight.
This is the part I mean :

I pay $10 US / pound for getting stuff here.ako wrote: I would rather buy an equivalent locally rather than pay air freight.
I went to a truck parts store and asked for the most heavy duty battery isolator they have. I bought a Electro Mecanica Cormar P/N #5000010 which is rated to 250A continuous or 2500A for 5 seconds. Should do the trick.
It was $37 locally, rather than the $49.50 plus freight (and 2 weeks delay) from SAV.

If readily available where you are, Hella has a couple of disconnect switches.
http://www.hellamarine.com/en/products/ ... -switches/
In reality, you don't have to have them. It is a "military " thing to keep batteries from dying from parasitic draws from time of infrequent use or storage
FYI. On the gas Pinz, they were on the negative side of the battery, and on the TDs on the positive.
Do you still have the relay that keeps the circuit closed while the truck is running ? ( It's in case some fool turns the switch off )

Hi David.
Yes, the relay is still there. It seems they simply removed the isolator and joined the negative straps together.
Since my new lever is removable, I think I will use it as a 'key' to help prevent some dirt bag try to drive off in my truck.

That's what most of us do... that average moron sometimes have a problem when the ignition switch isn't in the steering column.

How is your parts finding mission going then?
