I've bought rims from that seller before, and had good dealings. He is only a few miles from my shop. I can pick them up and hold them until the buyer can pick them up, or arrange cheaper shipping.

That's a great offer Dave - thanks - now only if you had an early pinzgauers to try them on.
Anybody with a 710 or 712 wanna drop by this guy in Dave's area and see how they fit? Sounds like the guy is open to someone trying it.

My favorite rims for the air cooled Pinzgauers is the Mach5 rims made in England - but they seems impossible to get anymore...GRCameron wrote:Those wheels look a bit fragile for the kind of loads a Pinz could put on them. Steel = bent, Aluminum = broken.
Steel rims with a rolled lip and 5 chrome-moly DOM tubes to a central plate - simple durable.
I want to get a second set of rims to allow me to have a more road friendly set of tires and another set of really aggressive off-road tires. Also wondering if other rims would keep the tire on the rim at low pressure...
