Could you please post a pic how it looks like with two straps installed ?
How to you prevent them from chafing on the wheels ?
The originals have to bo mounted slightly inwards, so the fold properly...

There are lots of photos in the link at the start of this thread.
Can't post from my phone.

Re: Limiting Straps
one pic of top and one pic of bottom. I used some 3/4" pipe to space mine to fit the mounting points. Been that way for a long time and still going strong. I do not notice the banging that happens with the original straps when the suspension suddenly hits its max extension. That is much nicer.

4x4Pinz
thanks for the pics. I guess I will add the nylon straps to the agenda for the winter modifications
It seems to me you still use 16 mm diameter screws on both sides of the axle to attach shock absorber and straps.

there was a refit note that included drilling through and using a long bolt with nuts on both ends.

if a screw breaks you have the hassle of getting the rest out. a broken bolt can be cut off with an angle grinder, and then you get te rest out quite easily

Re: Limiting Straps
I have drilled the rear axles on my 712 and converted to the long bolt but never had an issue with the front so never felt inclined to do the added work. BTW the pic is of my 712. My 710 is still running original straps (does not see as much heavy offroad use as my 712). As the straps fail I just change them to the nylons. Have yet to have a nylon strap fail.
