I was messing around with the Pinz yesterday. I pulled it into my shop - tight spot - and had to exit through the back.
I opened the rear door from inside and exited. I tried to close the door and it would not latch. The only way the door would latch was if I had the manual lock engaged.
With the lock engaged the door would stay shut, but I couldn't open the door or easily unlock it. It took a few light smacks with a hammer on the manual lock to get it to disengage.
I haven't opened everything up and taken a look - I ran out of time yesterday. Before I head over the the shop and tear into it, Any ideas? Had this happen before?
Thanks!

Re: 712 rear door problem
Well - no amount of cleaning and lubing would get the door to function.
In the process I had to slam the locking pin in order to get the door open - and now it will not stay latched.
I tried removing the small panel covering the latch and lock mechanism, but I ran out of time and light and didn't get the entire panel off.. something was preventing the panel from being removed.
Does anyone have any pics or diagrams of the locking mechanism? or experience fixing the the rear door latches? I'll take any advice!!!

Re: 712 rear door problem
To remove the panel twist the handle from the inside while pulling the panel from the inside, assuming the outside handle and knob are removed.
