Pinzgauer ax rubber latch

Does anyone know where I can buy a replacement rubber latch/strap for the ax that resides below the passenger seat? I found the entire assembly at Swiss Army Vehicles for $45, but the only part I need is the rubber latch.

Also, I lost my shovel on the Rubicon (clearly my fault, as I should have known to remove it)....any thoughts on shovels that will fit?

No idea on the rubber for the axe holder or the shovel but the Rubicon has my attention. Can you do a write up in the trail section and maybe some photos? PLEASE

I am not sure what the rubber piece looks like, but I would think you could easily fabricate it from a piece of rubber bungee cord.

That's how I'd do it too, strip of rubber maybe even neoprene would do.

Lace it around the two attachment pieces and overlap the rubber. Use
a "welding" type adhesive such as RapidFix, bonds at the molecular level
and will maintain "strechyness" at the bond.

Don't get any of this stuff on your fingers or you will need a scalpel to separate your pinkies
I've used this adhesive on door rubbers, pretty amazing stuff. There's other products on the market
too, but this one is a 2 day delivery from Amazon Prime

RapidFix sounds like it may be as tricky to work with as Herculiner if so your cautions are much appreciated.

I remember reading about the great Herculiner / Hootus incident of 2010 and suspect this could have similar possible hazards.

Ya, RapidFix it actually a bit warm while curing the bonded seams due to chemical reaction.
I forgot to mention I used this on the mitered corners of the door rubbers as I didn't
want them to separate. I still used 3M "Yellow snot" as the adhesive to the door frame.

Same thing and I always have 3-4 boxes of it on hand at work and home for repairs

I am a skeptic but decided to try RapidFix for something I had around the office. That stuff is legit. 10/10 needs to be in everyone tool box.
