Rear Door Lock Plate 28-25-24

Post by DeStoriesair »

Has anyone removed the Rear Door Lock Plate (Group 28-25-24) for the tailgate latch?
I am needing to get a nut on a bolt that passes thru the top of the door frame for a aft closeout panel I made and it is not just simply sliding off after I remove the screws.
I did not find anything in the maintenance manual and the IPC does not give much for removal.
Can it be removed without the interior components falling out?
Thanks

The plate will come off in one piece with the latch 28-25-05 attached to it assuming the handle and locking bolt knob and handle are removed to allow passage through the rear panel.
