Softtop 712M Center crossbar

Does anyone know which direction the Footman loop hooks should point on
a 712 center crossbar? I took my entire rear assembly apart for repairs and
some powder coating and forgot to take a PIX of that. I think these loops
point toward the front and not the rear but not sure. Part #33 on attached.
