I went and hunted down a dual purpose hitch. In case anyone is looking for a cheap solution, this looks like it would fit great!

Can anyone tell me about this hitch?

Re: Can anyone tell me about this hitch?
A couple of things on the combo hitches. They do not fit on the early Pinzes with only 4 bolthole in the tail cone, and in many cases, the ball is too high for a trailer and you have an extreme angle to them. In most cases, I favor the receiver hitches and use a drop ball to match the trailer better, and when removed, your chins will thank you.
It has been a while since I built any hitches, and longer since I've seen a gas Pinz tailcone, but the early Pinzes had a cast mount to receive the pintle with does not match the combo hitch. Later the tail cone got 2 additional threaded bosses that with 2 of the "Pinz" pintle will match up to the combo. The cast section that had the pintle was changed to fabricated section
This is the early mount that won't accept the combo hitch

The Austrian tail cone looks different; it already has some vertical offset.
hole pattern for the hitch is still 85 x 45 mm, but the whole thing sits about 100 mm lower
This pic is taken from a fire brigade vehicle; the army models Scott sells have a NATO hook

Re: Can anyone tell me about this hitch?
Its nice to see the Austrian versions kept somethings in the realm of international standards for interchangeability.
Do the Austrian military also use the same 7 pin trailer connection as that fire truck ?
My old 716K was a Swedish municipal truck with the 7 pin, and my British 718K has the NATO plug.
So it is interesting to see what was supplied with what contracts.

Many details have been changed when the renovation program ( nicknamed REHAB) was done.
The trailer connection was swapped for a 7 pin Type N connector; standard for 24 Volt trailers.
I use an adapter like this to get my 12 Volt trailer connected..
