SWPA 710M DeStories Customization
I am going to make an individual thread for all the upgrades/modifications/improvements that I do on the 710M here in Arizona.
Current use of the truck is for camping and offroading with the Southwest Pinzgauer Association crew in Arizona.
Current setup:
Electronics
-2 Renogy 100 watt solar panel charging 2 aux batteries located in Pinz aft storage box.
-Switching relay to choose between power sources for all aux electronics. Selection is: Pinz 12v (converted from 24), Solar power 12v, or Off.
-PS Engineering PM1000 Intercom with headsets and music input.
-7 in display for radio, bluetooth, aux input, backup camera, GPS map.
-Stryker SR89MC CB Radio.
-Flood Lights on LH, RH, Aft sides
-Spot/Flood bar facing forward
-Norcold 60L refrigerator powered (110v/24v/12v) for the following scenario's: before a trip the shore power is plugged into the side of the pinz, once disconnected and the pinz is running, the power is taken from the pinz 24v. If I turn the pinz off, the fridge power automatically switches to solar batteries....end result....always cold beer!
-Solid State Ignition
-Custom dash: Speedometer, Tach, Fuel, Oil Pressure/Temp (in process), Davtron M303 OAT (in process). LED annunciator lighting, Rocker switches, Klixon Circuit Breakers.
--The fuel indicator and probe have been upgraded to a system that reads accurately. Mine has a low fuel light that comes on at 1/4 tank. There are pot adjustments on the probe for Full/Empty/Low (let me know if you are interested in a kit)
-LED shift locker lights and laser engrave english locker placards.
-Avionics cabinet in bed area for push button switches which turn on the LED lights in the bed (sleep in bed of Pinz). Also has the voltage and temperature display for the refrigerator.
Body
-Custom hardtop and sides.
-Custom Roof Rack. Held on with 32 bolts to the pinz metal side rail mounts and 4 at the antenna hardpoint allows for simple removal of the rack.
-SWPA Front Bumper
-SWPA Rear Bumper
-SWPA Side Rails
-Removing small OEM parts, sandblasting and powder coating.
Other
-Baby Car Seat Structure that bolts to the 4 hardpoints on the bulkhead just behind the front seats. Also fits in the G-Wagon which has the same 4 hardpoint pattern (Mike Nims G Wagon)
-Rack structure for holding all the ammo cans labeled with the tools and recovery gear that are in it.
-Cargo tie downs in the bed for the medium sized medical chests filled with camping gear, kitchenware, and dutch ovens.
-Aftermarket driver/passenger seats
-Molle gear plate on door and forward side of the aft panel closeout
-SWPA center console
Future Upgrades
-Winch
-CHT Gauge

Re: SWPA 710M DeStories Customization
I added 2 pics of the back of the pinz. I like to keep it cleared out so that way depending on the adventure I can either load up all my military boxes filled with camping and cooking gear and then sleep in the back with the bench seats folded or keep it empty to drive it around town.
I wanted to keep everything modular. Pretty much everything that I have done to the pinz for upgrades can be unbolted and removed with minimal affect to the OEM body. I never know what upgrade I may want to do or change next. It is continually evovling! It first started out to support the wife and I during camping and offroading but that has changed into a plus 1 so that moved things around.
I still need to add the insulation and windows to the aft hardtop and sides but that will be a little farther down the line.

Nice set up. Thinking of making a hard top for mine. Did you use aluminium or steel for the skins? And what thickness is the metal?

Re: SWPA 710M DeStories Customization
I used stainless steel sheets for some of the side paneling because I had it laying around. Everything else is steel.
Definitely took some time to build but I think it was well worth it.

Mike, you only live a couple miles from Justin. Would not take much to get a look since your time is limited these days.
