1 winch mount for different pinz bumpers and for gas and TD
As I own few different models of Pinzgauers, both gasoline and diesel, with different bumpers, and only one winch, I decided to construct
a) one movable mount for 710-712s,
b) few brackets to be bolt on 716-718s
c) one cradle for my sole winch to suit all of them (and also a military G-classe).
Herewith the standard gas bumperettes set, others will follow.
Cheers

Here is TD mount for same cradle. No interference with bull bar (not shown).

Re: 1 winch mount for different pinz bumpers and for gas and TD
Since I have several different offroad vehicles and so do my friends, I just picked up a grip hoist. works on any vehicle or object I wish to move with no questionable mounts. Just used it to recover a SXS that was hit head on. I was not in one of my trucks but was still able to get the job done since we had the grip hoist with us.

I’m sorry, I do not see the structural integrity of the bar and angle material in this use and the lack of angle bracing required to keep things from tweaking in any angled pull. It is hard to say, but from the photos it appears you are using 6mm (1/4”) material, which is too thin for any off center hard pulls.
The photo below is what I had made for my 716, patterned off what photos I had of the ATL Pinzes. This wasn't for multiple mounts but shows triangular plates welded to hold the fairing plate to the winch plate. What can't be seen is underneath are 2 larger plates going from the front of the winch mounting plate down the full height of the mounting plate to the truck. That truck is long gone, but I can be fairly positive that the mounting and winch plates and the lower braces were made from 10mm (3/8") material . (For those gas Pinz owners reading this, the front pin on the TD Pinzes are a bolt on assembly that are removable for mounting other attachments, like a winch, see 2nd photo).
Gunipinzmutt. You may want to look at a Sepson mount (if you can find one
). If I remember correctly, they have a "T" slotted base mount with a plate the winch (or other accessories ) mount onto. A 716K owner in the UK had one that the winch could easily move front to rear. The winch slid down into the mount vertically, hence no sheer pressure . I wouldn't buy one (if they were available) but to copy the T slot idea and make an adapter with the T slot for the 710 and 712 to fit tightly in their front pins and a T slot for each of your TDs

Mike,
I've always like the idea of the Tirfor or griphoist, but decided against one because in my case, a vehicle recovery would end up a vehicle and body recovery… mine, I’d be sure to have a heart attack working it

Re: 1 winch mount for different pinz bumpers and for gas and TD
I have always had the opinion that if I could not operate the grip hoist then I had more things to worry about then recovery of my truck or any other vehicle. If things keep up the way they are I will have to get a new one as my large version will wear out. I have a couple of these in different sizes for different applications, no need for a large unit if the medium will do the task. I also have a two hundred for cable for the large unit which had come in handy. And yes you do have to be able to work the grip hoist and it does require some effort depending on how stuck the object is. In one case we pulled a full size sand car out of a large bowl in glamis. That was Little work as we had to go up there steep side of the bowl.

For the G250 I made a slotted base mount where the same cradle slids in, horizontally back to front.

Re: 1 winch mount for different pinz bumpers and for gas and TD
Then I realized that the winch could have been be too exposed to damage in the bush so I equipped the craddle with a protection cage:

Re: 1 winch mount for different pinz bumpers and for gas and TD
The power supply is by the mean of a Nato (or 2 pin) slave starting cable socket. With a jump start cable you can use the winch separate from the truck; much more efficient and comfortable than a griphoist.

I like how you modified the horn to get your power connector!

Raised seat allows also a good air flow.
