Rear canvas modification and repairs

I just got my rear canvas back from the canvas repair lady and I thought I would share the mod I had done to it since it worked out so well. Since I have the rapier back doors, I have a large gap between the doors and the canvas; I had the canvas lady sew in a flap from the inside that seals the gap. I gave her the material which is a brand new cab divider curtain from a deuce and a half that I got on ebay for $40. I also had her sew in new rear windows and add patches to some small rub holes under the bow corners. Anyhow, I learned that all you need to do a patch is some vinyl and HH-66 vinyl cement, so I'll be doing my own patches in the future.

two things that need to be done when working with the HH66 glue to make it hold up very well. First is get a good cleaner and use it, available where you get the glue. Second apply pressure while glue is drying, preferably 24hours.

I made a top for my 712 6 years ago that is put together entirely with this glue. I have towed this truck all over the western united states and have yet to have a joint fail. I have also changed out a bunch of the vinyl windows using same technique and the results are excellent. Great product if used properly and will hold up to the same service as the top.

And yes Dave is correct the SDP site is a great resource of pinz related information and should be mandatory reading for all pinz owners.

As soon as I go to the SDP site it disappears and some web ring site appears. Haven't been able to get on the
SDP site for months.

I've had the same problem, but going back page and try it again, it works for me.
