Alternator Bearing

Post by TiredIronGRB »

Does anyone know of a ready available alternator bearing replacement, mine is going out and I would like to find one before I tear it apart.

Thanks,
George

It's the standard 24volt one. (at least it looks like all the other ones I've seen).

Ok there are two types,
One has what appears to be a box like casting on the back, the other is progressively tapered up at the back throughout the circumference of the alternator to form a larger OD at the back than the front so to speak.
Take a look at yours and let me know which one it is.

Looks like you have been doing some 4 wheeling!
I will get you the bearing sizes tomorrow, we have been slammed getting that Red Robi truck out for the presentation to their Board for the 23rd.

Thanks, I hope they are ready available. I started it with the belts removed and it;s unreal how quite the engine is.

The bearing is a Motorola 62034N. My alternator/starter guy matched it up very easily, he said brushes for a Motorola will also work.
