disk brake conversion
Hello there,
I'm from Belgium and I have my Volvo 1 year now.
I ruined the wheel bearings of the front left wheel.
I know will change them and upgrade to disk brakes
because all the shoes and pumps from the original brakes
are all worn out.
I will do the conversion in januari, if you have questions
about it I will answer them.
I will use all Toyota Hilux parts, even the bolt pattern
will be 6 lugs, toyota rims.

Still working on it, has some problems with originel rims.
Will give a complete report when everything is done and works properly.
It's not a job for a novice mechanic, you have to have special tools and advancec mechanical skills.
But it's straight forward if you have all of this.
It's a conversion with calipers, diskbrake, pads, wheel pattern from Toyota Hilux.
That's for know, report will follow.

I may have missed something... was this a kit that someone sold to you? Or did you figure it out alone? I bet some people would be interested in it and any more info you could supply about the conversion process.
Nice work.

It's a kit from OMT Offroad from Germany.
It uses Toyota rotors and calipers.
Its really simple to install if you have experience in axles.
Basicly you change the hub shaft with the one from omt offroad en you make a stand for the caliper.
In the kit is everything you need for the conversion.
You need a few tools to do the job: press and pullers for the bearings and a high power drill and some basic spanners and things like that.
Then you also need to use Toyota/Nissan rims, because the new hub has a 6 bolt pattern. But I made some spacer myself (the black plate at the end of the axle) so that I can you my original volvo rims. If I unbolt the spacer I can use Toyota rims.
Any questions, feel free to ask them.

Now their is a problem. I have bleed the brakes and did a test ride.
Braking respons is fantastic.
This morning all my brake fluid was out of the 2 reservoirs and no brake respons on the pedal.
I have no leaking on lines or calipers. So I think my servo's
are leaking.
Are their rebuilding kits for the servos?
They are Lockheed Type 7 servos.
