Looks nice!

Very nice - what is the brand of those?

Its hard to find aggressive tires in the small 12 & 13 inch size other than ATV type tires.

If you don't mind telling - what was the price for them?

Will have to look up info on brand and price
They are rally tires that I had to import from England - so price was steep for 13" tires

Took week off to work on Hafi...
So far nothing but gas tank worked on due to other things, 3 messed up trailer rental attempts yesterday and bad weather
Frustrating as time is something that is in short supply esp with kids, new puppy, work and BBQ comps gearing up
Was hoping to have 12+ hours already into the chassis by now and I have about 1 - it is no wonder this is taking forever!!

Aftermarket!

The original tank would have bossing pressed in to the side panels. Yours are plain so can't be original.

Is the brazing on the bottom holding the drain plug in place nice and smooth? If not then definitely not factory.

Yup - I do the competition circuit up here (which is only 1-3 comps per summer here in Ontario) and then head south for more.
Headed to the American Royal again this year which is in Kansas City - 550+ teams! It is low and slow, smokey bbq as far as the eye can see (literally!).
Once I get my Pinz it will haul my smokers and gear and I will sleep in the rear at comps

OK - so for the last 3-4 weeks I have had limited time to work on the Hafi.
This was to be the summer I got it all back together!!!
Between work, a new construction project, a puppy, bbq comps and then getting the flu the work on the Hafi has suffered.
Finally got a bit done yesterday with the hopes of getting more time at it over the next month. Weather was good and no wind so did not setup my temp paint area
Center tube - check

I was considering putting in a sump/drain plug in my tube to make changing the oil in it easier - at the moment I have no idea how much is in there and what its quality is.

With yours as it is, now would be a good time to do it if you were so inclined.

Just need to make sure it's not proud along the bottom edge as it will get damaged when sliding over rocks etc.

Gary, jack the rear end up - all the oil will drain down to the front end where the filler plug is. use a vacuum oil sucking system to suck all the old oil out, then replace with new.

Like all other oil issues - what grade and how much will be your ever present questions as I don't recall seeing any mention of what goes in the main tube or if it differs between short wheel base and long wheel base or even if it differs due to year!

For sure you could do that but I dont have a sucker but we shouldnt have to suck it out - the other oil reservoirs have sump plugs and I really dont see why one was not put in there - another example of poor thought in the design of aspects of these vehicles

I would guess they did not want it tamperred with as it is sealed at both ends. There is no service interval listed, just instruction to check for oil and add as needed. This also prevents forgetting to fill it

Do yourself a favor and just make a oil sucker from a 1 qt mason jar. drill 2 holes in the top and solder or epoxy tubes in place(one reaches to bottom of jar, 1 just into lid a little). After that is done put the sucker hose on the long tube and hook the other to a vaccume source. Works like magic. Tube holds .5L of 90wt
