Windshield Sealing Help

Post by AppleTech »

Both front windshields are leaking. The passenger one leaks from just run-off and the driver one blows water in while driving (fun!). I have heard mention of places where you can just buy the various seals on a roll and cut to size. Does anyone have recommendations for the pop-out driver and fixed passenger windshield seals? Also need to reseal the gun hatch which is leaking during rainfall (going to pull the whole unit, clean it up, paint it, then put new rubber on it - just need to know what kind)

Appreciation in advance - Tatanka doesn't seem to stock them at least on their website and I'm presuming this is something easily enough sourced stateside?

Thanks!

I have no experience with Volvos but have often found suitable seals, weatherstrip, etc. for other projects from this company: https://www.steelerubber.com

Try https://www.steelerubber.com/side-bulb- ... 70-3592-99

I installed this on our AluZn TGB11 in 2017. Very nice fit. I see the price per linear foot has increased form the $4.50 USD/foot I paid four years ago.
Hope this helps.

Thanks Jim - what application? The pop-out windshield or elsewhere?

OOPS!
It s the seal between the cab and the pop-out windshield frame. I have never had to replace the seal between to pop-out frame and its glass. I do not have a replacement for the passenger side frame-to-glass seal. If you know you will be replacing this seal as well, you can send a cross-section of that old seal to either Metro Moulded Parts or Steele Rubber Products and they should be able to show you what is their closest fit.

When one looks at the Volvo C303/304/306 parts manual, specifically Group 84 pages 460 & 461, the exploded diagram and the parts list that follows do not appear to match.

Please keep us infromed as to what you find.
