Why not stick with Vacuum, just make it more reliable.
Use a regulated -1.0 BAR electric vacuum pump with a
(vacuum) air reservoir.

Is that what you have ?

I have to winder why. I never had any issues with that vacuum system and they actually worked better than any other locker I've seen.
It's super fast, simple and no extra pumps or parts to deal with. Why complicate it?

I have a Land Rover discovery on volvo portal axles .. I use it for extreme rock crawling and the way I set it up with the vacuum that I have set up it does not work all the time.. I have a vacuum gauge and it says it’s getting enough vacuum but for some reason it won’t always engage.. I have taken it appart and change the rubber seal and changed the cover verified the
Fork inside and everything seems to be in working order... since it’s not all original I guess it could be the valve and reservoir I’m using that does not keep the pressure constantly on the fork...I’ll see if I can post pics later on to show you..
Open to any system that will work..

I don't adhere to the 'if it works why mess with it' mentality. If we all did that there would be no aftermarket support for this vehicle or many others. Ingenuity requires the mindset that something can be done differently. Maybe not better or worse, but differently. With my setup I plan to switch to air not because vacuum doesn't work but because I have other accessories on air and I'd rather have it all on air and not a mix-match of both air and vacuum. Kamo makes a nice set of air actuators for the portals.

Stock engineering has historically been far more reliable in my experience. I'll take that over anything when possible and practical.

Yes tks that’s what I think .. I have tried to reach Kamo by email,Facebook, and by phone and can ot reach them..
Don’t know what’s going on there..
since I can’t reach them I’m thinking of going with an electric vacuum pump and a reservoir like a fellow on this board said but I would like to know what kind of reservoir he was using.. here is what i have for a set up..
It’s connected to the engine vacuum and I have a small reservoir from a disco2 Land Rover and a selonoid valve that’s activated from a switch inside .. sometimes it does not engage all the time and I think the vacuum could be the problem..

The only issue I see here is that the reservoir is way too small.

I actually want to swap mine to air powered too. Just because I plan to have an onboard air compressor and with the swap of a diesel engine the vacuum isnt there.
