Unimog info... ???

Post by Bobby Bourgoin »

Greeting's
I've seen Unimog for sale, and in some of the description says "Manuel with Torque Converter"...
Is this standard in a Mog, or a (?rare?) option, or a custom job?

I use to drive Steyr Percherons (commonly known as HLVW in the Canadian Military) that had this kind of set-up, and I loved the combination...

Any info...

Thanks

There are many kinds of Unimogs
The 406 Doka airport tugs (rare) came with a torque converter and manual transmission
Check here: http://www.unimog.net/exchange/ and scroll down to #25 for an example (sold fairly cheap but owner rated it a 5/10 condition).

I don't know of another type/model that came with the torque converter but there are probably some as Unimogs always have strange one off configurations it seems.

Seeing as there were some that came from factory with a torque converter, it's safe to say that one could be added... Thanks

Any idea how the heat is in a Mog?

Depends on the model your thinking of... assuming a 406/416 Doka then it's great as many have a secondary heater under the rear seat.
You may want to go here: http://www.benzworld.org/forums/unimog/
And do some searches, it has all the info you will want on all kinds of Mog's!
