Russian Hummer

Post by VinceAtReal4x4s »

Well I guess this is... interesting.? Looks like a lot of glass to be armored and that rear end is... odd. But what do I know?

What is with Russian designers? This is from the company that built it but I'm not sure those are the words I'd use to describe it.
"Zil claims the body was designed using "advanced 3D modeling," with a special emphasis on building a psychologically intimidating and "menacing" aesthetic."

Maybe it was intimidating but then a giant stepped on it and stretched its butt out.

The doors, if that's what they're calling them, appear to have hinges at the top and bottom - making a sort of mouth that opens. Maybe the bottom halves are like the stairs on a Learjet. The chassis is nothing special - a ladder frame with live axles from the 50's. The whole thing looks like a bad rendition of a kid's transformer toy.

Might make a dung beetle feel like it has some competition.

When on safari in Africa, I watch a few dung beetles at work. They are tenacious little bugs, rolling that ball of crap through the grass.
Much cuter than that metal thing.
Still trying to figure out that grille. Maybe it needs to be red.

There was mention of "providing the ability to fire in all directions" or some such wording. I can't see any sliding covers on the doors or windows so how do they shoot? Maybe they have to open the glass up, providing a nice hole though which the enemy can shoot all of the occupants. Even more so for the poor Sap who gets the back seat! :?

Door do open like jet - bottom have becomes a step and there is a roof hatch so they can shoot you no matter where you hide

Looks has to be a movie prop. to ugly to be anything else.
The slanted glass would help work as bullets would glance off.
Reminds me a little of the small armored mole, but it is bad ass looking, this is not.

Slanted glass and bullets, hmmmmm...only from the front. what about the sides?
Almost every bad guy movie I have seen the fool in front is mowed down, they shoot as they thing goes by or as it leaves...the rear doesn't look too safe either.

This thing is made for movies, not war....but then even bicycles are in wars, horses too.

Happy trails

I believe a stock Ford F 150 has as much ground clearance. This looks like something I would have drawn in 5th grade. And now that I think about it, I'm pretty sure the kid next to me was named Ivan...

The designers were on a joint LSD trip while watching Mad Max. No other explanation comes to mind.
