I wonder if it does have both fuel tanks? If it was a camper conversion, I would have said the second one was water......

True 6x6 or 4x4 with a tag axle?

Wow.

I saw the thread title and fully expected to see some cumbersome, Eastern Bloc, ex-military 6x6 that I would love just because of its rugged ugliness. But no, you were being entirely literal. That is one ugly %#^&$*(@!

Isn't this how all 4x4 Discovery look like when you're drunk?

No when you are drunk you try to convince people that Discoverys are reliable.

I think they were/are ranked as the most unreliable 4x4 in recent times based on dealer repair incidents. Great off-road though, surprisingly.

A Discovery is essentially a Defender with more comfortable seats & the kind of electrics that behave as if wired it. The body also blocks a lot of the access points that the Defender has so you can't get to the transmission in the same way.

I am in an off road group that boasts many of the participants ownership in LR vehicles. One of the guys is a LR tech and a very good mechanic. His advice to me as we spoke of getting one is that I should expect to spend lots of time and money keeping it on the road. I'll stick with the pinz.

I had a Disco in the late 90's in Austin,TX
No one knew what it was as the only dealership was on Dallas
I liked it but still to this day wish I got the NA D90!
Got rid of mine before maintenance became an issue

That might be a rebodied Carmichael Range Rover 6x4. The rearmost axle was not driven but served to increase load capacity. Search for civiilan Carmichael Commando for some really awkward 1970s styling

or for true off road eye sores, search for Glenfrome:

I followed the link, I will never be able to un see the automotive horrors that lurk there. Someone should have called the tool police long ago to halt such vehicular atrocities.
