I just recently bought a 718 Pinz. The Speedo worked for a few days but now the needle stays at zero. But the odometer is working fine. Any ideas on how to fix it before I replace it? Just want to make sure it’s not a blown fuse or a simple button I pushed. Thanks, Jud

A majority of the TD's speedos are basically the same mechanical VDO gauge as used in most gas Pinzes, but are a different (smaller) diameter. Some also have tachographs, my 718K Pinz has a Caerbont (Smith) gauge . All the gauges were mechanical. With that said, I had replaced my VDO speedo in my 716 back in '04ish with an electronic speedo (simpler than messing with the old one). So, as you can see, a little more info is needed to see what you have.

Here is a photo of the speedometer. If it’s not a simple fix than I will replace it with a MPH GPS one.

Yep, you got a tachograph. My old 1300 Mog had a similar one. They use paper discs to log trip info.

Do a search on "mannesmann kienzle tachograph". Its get a lot of results. Add a model # if you can find one.
