Stuck Choke and Gas pedal

Stuck Choke and Gas pedal
I jumped into the Pinz last night and found that I could not move the choke lever. The gas pedal was also not moving. I removed the service panel and fiddled around with the linkage (At least I think I fiddled with it, it was pretty dark). Now the choke is stuck halfway out and the gas pedal was half way down. And I still can't start it.
Now it was cold out (about 14 degrees) (felt like the inside of a cryogenic chamber) but I have run her this cold before.
I will have time and (hopefully) warmer weather on Saturday to pull the cover and look at all the linkages. All I need to know is..... What am I looking for? Could it be just too cold? (Say it ain't so!)

When the only tool in your toolbox is a hammer, every problem starts to look like a nail.
Just a poke in the dark here...
Have you made sure the manual throttle pull lever is not in locked condition? There are oil/lube access ports on the cables so you could squirt some nice thin lube into them as a second attempt to free them...assuming they are frozen up.
I will now turn on the lights...

I'm not trying to get into a colder-than-thou contest here. At least not with Alaskans on the board. It was just colder than normal (as if ANYTHING were NOrmal in NY) and I was wondered if that could be a factor.
I was hoping it would warm up to freezing today (holy cow! I'm nuts for living here! Will I ever be warm again?) so I can get the covers of and see if I can spot something simple.
So let me confess my sins here..... I have only owned the Pinz since November and it's been so cold out (since August) that I have not pulled off the engine cover yet. I don't know what the enging looks like. I was hoping to go without problems until spring time (July).
So, sins confessed, what should the throttle linkage look like? Could I just have ice frozen on something? Is there a common broken something? Should I take pictures of what I have (once it warms up to freezing). This problem happened suddenly. One day it worked fine, the next not. The manual throttle is not locked. I can pull it and it moves until I reach the point the gas pedal is stuck at. I'll look at lubing the linkage. Again, I was hoping I was just iced up somewhere rather than broken.
I did buy the parts and repair manuals, so I have pictures I can look at to see what the linkage is suppose to look like. But I'm having trouble finding a clear picture of the linkage. I might be on the wrong page in the manual.

Hmm, If I can find someone on the Forum with a temp of more than 37C (99F) I may still be in the running!I'm not trying to get into a colder-than-thou contest here. At least not with Alaskans on the board.

Still cold, but I think I have it fixed.
Well, it did warm up slightly today and I spent a few minutes looking at the linkage thru the service panel and I think I fixed it.
I'm not sure how I fixed it, but I could see that the choke cabel was moving, slightly, the choke on the rear carb, but not the choke on the front carb. So I was able to grasp the front carb choke with my right hand and the choke knob with my left hand and wiggle them back and forth until it moved.
Then I started her up and it was like nothing was ever wrong. Nothing like a little shaking to make things better.
So that leaves two things: 1) a theory on what caused the problem and 2) a followup question.
1) Cosmic radiation.
2) Should I uncover the carbs and spray some carb cleaner in there?

Yep, the drought is a BIG problem here too.We are starting the drought thing again here. No rain to speak of since last August. If it is a normal dry hot year here, 105 - 110 F
Water restrictions limit watering the garden to a few hours a week (by hand only) and you can't wash cars at home.
I've just purchased a 4500 litre rain water tank to collect the rain run-off so that should help a little after it fills.
'If" we move to the next stage of water restrictions washing cars all-together will be banned!
